The imposing Swedish parliament building, known to locals as Riksdagshuset, takes up around half of the island of Helgeandsholmen. With water surrounding it on all sides and magnificent views of Stockholm, it’s not a bad place to be a politician. The Swedish Parliament Building is a massive Neoclassical structure located in Stockholm Sweden. Construction of the building began in 1897 and was completed in 1905. The waterfront building is home to the Riksdad (Swedish government) and the Swedish National Bank. The Swedish "Riksdag" is located in a building complex that was originally intended for the Parliament and the State bank.
